Welcome to The West Grantham Church of England Primary Academy, supported by the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham Multi Academy Trust.
Our primary aim is to deliver an excellent education that empowers children and equips them for an aspirational future of life-long learning. ‘To champion and rejoice in those we serve, creating an environment where excellence is achieved and potential fulfilled’.
We stand up for what is right and are not afraid to learn from our mistakes as we push ourselves to be the very best that we can be.
“I can do all things
through Christ who
strengthens me”
Philippians 4:13
We have unwavering
confidence in ourselves, in
others, and in our
capacity to succeed.
“All things are possible to
him who believes”
Mark 9:23
We are dedicated and
devoted to, serving
others, achieving
excellence and celebrating
success.
“Be strong and
courageous. Do not be
afraid; do not be
discouraged, for the Lord
your God will be with you
wherever you go”
Joshua 1:9
We have unlimited hopes
and aspirations so all
can achieve their full
potential.
“The integrity of the
upright guides them”
Proverbs 11:3
We are honest, ensuring
that our actions are
guided by strong moral
principles that we refuse
to change.
“Love is patient, love is
kind. It does not envy, it
does not boast, it is not
proud. It always protects,
always trusts, always
hopes, always perseveres”
1 Corinthians 13:4 & 7
On Friday of last week, 5K were invited to the incredible Harlaxton Manor for the Arnhem Educational Day. The pupil took part in a special ceremony were they remembered those who fought and lost their lives at Arnhem by laying flowers at the commemorative crosses.
In the afternoon, 5K participated in several workshops including acting as secret agents and sending Morse code messages, visiting a replica of Bletchley Park and breaking codes using the Enigma Machine and finally getting to see and try the kit used by paratroopers in 1944 and the modern day.

In Year 2, we have been looking at instructions. Yesterday, we had an excellent time following instructions on how to make a jam sandwich and then eating it! We are going to use this to help write our own instructions over the next few weeks so we can tell others the steps to take.

Year 5 and 6 are currently reading Skellig in class and throughout the book it mentions that the character eats flies and other insects. The children were given the option to try some edible crickets today. They went down a treat! After everyone who wanted to try one had the chance to, the children were given the opportunity to have some more if they wished. As you can see, they demolished the lot. The barbecue flavour was a clear favourite.
