Whole School Assembly
This morning all the infants and junior children had the whole school assembly together on the junior site.
Mr Morton held Easter Service for the children and the staff. He discussed the true meaning of Easter – reminding them of God’s love for us that lasts forever, that we can know it everyday and that when we trust God, He changes us inside and gives us joy and hope because of what Jesus has done for us.
Following Mr Morton’s beautiful Easter Service, Mrs Smyth and Mrs Drury presented the Ethic of Excellence awards to the children who excelled in each subject – English, Maths, Design Technology, Science, Geography, History, Music, PE, Religious Education, Art, Computing and PSHE. Super well done!
Then it was time to say goodbye to a very special member of staff – Mrs Short, who was with us for ten years. Following Mr Hardy’s funny but very warm introduction, Mrs Short shared a few words with the children and the staff. We will truly miss Mrs Short and wish her all the best.
Miss Short also joined the assembly so we presented her with a box full of gifts from the staff for her baby. It was lovely to see her and meet her new baby!
Then, Mrs Smyth said that a member of staff was having a baby soon. ‘Who would that be?’ Many children said ‘Miss Greaves!’. Miss Greaves was presented with a bouquet of flowers and a baby box. She is starting her maternity leave next week, and we wish her and her family very best wishes.
And last, but not least, it was time to celebrate someone’s big birthday … Mr D’s! The children and the staff all sang Happy Birthday for Mr D.
What an amazing wrap of another busy term! Have a wonderful and safe half term everyone, and we look forward to seeing you all back on Wednesday 20 April.
